Charlie Chan pasta Fan? Well, us too! I know you can’t resist the spicy, nutty, very chinese and savory flavor which makes you buy more from Yellow cab! Now, you can make your own charlie chan! Or better, have your own rendition! Remember, your kitchen is your playroom. Create or recreate flavors, never set boundaries in cooking.
1 whole boneless chicken breast
1/3 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons sesame oil
2 pieces onion
2 garlic cloves
1 1/4 tablespoons Char siu sauce (lee kum kee)
1/4 teaspoon chili-garlic sauce (1-2 teaspoons for a spicy version)
9 tablespoons oyster sauce
1/8 cup sugar
4 tablespoons water
400 g cooked pasta
cashew or regular nuts (optional)
Preparation time: 10-15 minutes
Cooking time: around 35 minutes
1. Slice garlic and onions
2. Sauté onion and garlic in a little olive oil
3. Cook chicken until it is brownish
4. In a separate bowl, mix sesame oil, char siu sauce, oyster sauce, chilli garlic, sugar, and water.
5. Add liquid mixture to chicken and simmer for a few minutes.
6. Mix in pasta
7. Serve and enjoy!
